Hatchet by Gary Paulsen
This book tied together really well. The setting and the main character fit together like gears in a machine. The author wrote it so you felt like Brian, the main character, did. There were some other unbelievable situations, but somehow the writer made them work. Some foods that Brian ate, that I would never try in a million years, sounded appetizing and restaurant-worthy. Brian hunted and worked in a way that really seemed real which made me like the book even more. This book is good for 9 year olds and up!
